The Franciscan Family of Spain and the Escuela Superior de Estudios Franciscanos de Madrid announce the 1st International Composition Competition on the occasion of the 8th centenary of the poem Laudes Creaturarum (Canticle of the Creatures) of St. Francis of Assisi.

Applicants, composers of any age and nationality, are invited to submit a work based on the original text of the poem for one of the following formats:

• solo voice with keyboard accompaniment, 
• choir (mixed or equal voices) a cappella or with keyboard accompaniment.

Entries are open until 15 July 2025.

The prize includes an endowment of 4000€ and the world premiere of the winning work, which will take place in Madrid as part of the celebrations of the VIII Centenary of St. Francis in Spain.
