The NEWCO - New Chamber Orchestra returns to Donostia-San Sebastián on April 17, 2026. The venue will once again be the iconic Basilica of Santa María del Coro, a space whose acoustics and spirituality have become the natural setting for this international ensemble’s performances.

Under the musical direction of the prestigious violinist Tatiana Samouil, The NEWCO has established itself as one of the most innovative proposals on the current scene. Its model is distinguished by bringing together seasoned professionals and rising young talents, creating a space for mentorship and technical excellence where experience and freshness merge to offer a unique interpretive sensitivity, focused on the recovery and promotion of musical heritage.

The evening will open with the mystical piece Sitivit Anima Mea ad Dominum by Aita Donostia, followed by Grieg’s celebrated Holberg Suite. One of the most anticipated moments will be the performance of Vivaldi’s Concerto for Two Violins Op. 3, No. 8, in a special version for violin and viola featuring the outstanding violist Natalia Tchitch alongside Tatiana Samouil.

The program will culminate with Frédéric Chopin's Concerto for Piano and Orchestra No. 1 in E Minor, Op. 11, performed by Josu Okiñena as piano soloist. The renowned pianist and researcher will join forces with the orchestra to offer a nuanced reading of this masterpiece of Romanticism, reaffirming his commitment to artistic excellence.
