This recital is conceived as a true musical pilgrimage around the Franciscan spirit, whose legacy has inspired composers of different eras. The program is structured around the premiere of a work for voice and piano by Adrian Mocanu, winner of the I Saint Francis of Assisi International Musical Composition Competition, created from the famous poem Laude delle creature.
This premiere will be in dialogue with pieces by Aita Donostia, such as La cigala and Poema del agua, which evoke nature and spirituality in harmony with the Franciscan vision. Alongside these will be works by Franz Liszt—with his celebrated La prédication aux oiseaux—and Federico Mompou—with Cantar del alma—compositions that, from different languages and sensibilities, celebrate the song of creation, simplicity, interiority, and universal fraternity.
Thus, the recital offers a journey where tradition and contemporaneity intertwine, uniting the voice of Saint Francis with musical resonances that transcend borders and generations.
