Christmas Concert

Christmas Concert

Information

The Aita Donostia Festival Christmas Concert is an annual tradition that culminates, as always, with Aita Donostia’s moving choral work, Le Noël de Greccio. This year, the concert solidifies the collaboration of NEWCO - The New Chamber Orchestra, the EASO Choir, which performs with its mixed-voice choir and EASO Txiki, its children's choir, and a cast of top-tier soloists—Tatiana Samouil, Natalia Tchitch, Pavel Gomziakov, and Josu Okiñena—in their third consecutive participation. The program weaves a unique musical tapestry intertwining the Baroque (Vivaldi and Bach), the profound spirituality of Messiaen (Louange à l’Éternité de Jésus), and the Trío poema by G. Tchitch, setting the stage for the crown jewel of the Basque Christmas repertoire. A musical celebration of Christmas.

Come to the Concert the Easiest, Most Comfortable Way, and Respect the Environment!

On Foot or by Bike (Our Favorite Option!)

The Basilica is right in the city centre. Moving around on foot is the simplest option and the way to reduce our environmental impact to zero.

  • BiciMAD: You have public BiciMAD bike stations spread throughout the area, including near Paseo del Prado and around Sol.

By Metro and Cercanías (Commuter Rail)

Madrid has an excellent transport network. The closest stations will leave you a very short walk away:

  • Metro Stops (5-7 minutes on foot):
    • Estación del Arte (Line 1).
    • Banco de España (Line 2).
    • Antón Martín (Line 1).
    • Sevilla (Line 2).

Renfe Cercanías (Commuter Rail):

  • The Sol station serves lines C3, C4, C4a, and C4b.

By Bus (EMT)

You have multiple bus stops very close to the Basilica:

  • Closest Stop (2 minutes away): Neptuno. This stop serves a large number of lines (e.g., 10, 14, 27, 34, C03, 001, etc.).
  • Nearby Stops (5 minutes away): Desamparados and Canalejas.

If You Come by Car

If you have no alternative, please come with a full car. Sharing reduces the impact of your trip! We recommend using public transport to avoid the restrictions and high parking costs of central Madrid.
