Aita Donostia Festival 2025: Program in Donostia and Madrid
10 november 2025
In the third edition of the Festival, we explore the connection between Aita Donostia and Maurice Ravel on the 150th anniversary of the Basque-French composer.
The Aita Donostia Festival presents a program that celebrates a key year for music: the 150th anniversary of the birth of Maurice Ravel (1875–1937). Under the theme "Ravel | Donostia: tradición y modernidad", we establish an essential dialogue between the legacy of the Basque-French composer and the figure of Aita Donostia, exploring the roots and evolution of chamber music.
Central Chamber Music cycle in Donostia: Tradition at the Capuchin Church
The heart of the festival will take place in Donostia-San Sebastián with a concert cycle at the Capuchin Church (Iglesia de los Capuchinos). This venue holds a special historical significance for us, as its adjoining convent was the residence of Aita Donostia.
- Dates: December 3, 5, 10, 12, and 17, 2025
- Time: 7:30 PM (19:30 h)
- Program: High-level artistic chamber music, reflecting the spirit of this year's theme.
Traditional Christmas Concert and Closing Event in Madrid
Our traditional Christmas Concert unfolds into two major events, marking the closing of the festival:
- Donostia-San Sebastián: The Christmas event this year will be held in the majestic Basilica of Santa María del Coro.
- Madrid: We move to the capital on Sunday, December 22, for a special concert at the Jesús de Medinaceli Basilica.
